Defining your college career in a short reflection is similar to describing the story of your life. As you progress in life, your story changes, with some previous highlights eventually fading into the background. I am the same person I was five years ago, with the exception of the people I met, the books I read, and the challenges I faced. The culmination of these three aspects has made me who I am today.

Looking back on the accomplishments of this year, it would not have been possible without the proper guidance through each assignment that was due. All the assignments built on each other in a way that helped me compile the proper information I needed for the thesis, and open my eyes to potential areas of improvement. Drawing many of my analyses from the project team and the PACE conference, it was encouraging to see the support of the industry as we tackled our thesis. My graduate coursed helped me bring a new perspective to the table when it came to each of my analyses. With a new understanding of how LEAN Principles are being used in the industry, I was able to use these techniques to determine where operational issued occurred during the course of construction. My first and second analysis are direct solutions to these apparent issues. LEAN principles were a major topic in AE 570, also known as Production Management. In addition to this, sequencing played a major role in the site logistics planning of my topics, which were refined be the topics taught in this class. From spaghetti diagrams, to gemba walks, efficient ways to capture the overall construction flow in an efficient manner relies on the wisdom of industry professionals, and the understanding of the construction process.

While many of us will not create websites in our day to day jobs, CPEP teaches us a critical lesson that directly relates to our jobs. Similar to delegated design, we are given a set a parameters, and an end goal, and we are given the freedom to express our best solution to the problem. Because of this, no two websites are the same, and each website represents the 100% effort of the student it embodies. Building the website is our first glimpse at the real world of management, and our responsibilities herein. This website streamlined the process of presenting the work that was realized throughout each milestone.
